More About Me
Hi, I'm C. I'm a UX Designer, former educator, and lifelong learner and creative who enjoys solving problems. I design tools that reduce friction, support confidence, and let people focus on what matters most.
My Journey
I have always been drawn to understanding people and finding thoughtful ways to help them. Growing up with an architect father who valued precision and problem-solving, and a creative mother who built a nurturing home environment, I developed an appreciation for a balance between imagination and structure.
I carried that interest into my 13 years as an art educator, where every day required me to understand different perspectives, solve problems creatively, and design experiences that helped students succeed. I learned that the most effective solutions come from first listening, observing, and understanding the people you are designing for.
As I began looking toward my next career chapter, I knew I wanted to continue combining creativity with meaningful problem-solving. UX design immediately stood out as a field where my background in art education and my passion for creating better experiences could come together.
How I Work
My background as an educator taught me that improvement starts with curiosity. Whether I am learning a new skill or solving a design challenge, I like to ask questions, gather information, explore possibilities, and refine ideas through feedback.
I thrive through collaboration — sharing ideas, exploring possibilities, and refining concepts through feedback and iteration. I believe the best designs are not created in isolation; they emerge through a process of listening, testing, and continuously improving until an idea becomes its strongest version.
Sketches, Sawdust, and Side Quests - The things that keep my curiosity flowing
When I’m not designing, you’ll usually find me exploring new places with my spouse and our dogs, discovering new restaurants, or looking for the next interesting thing to learn.
I love art in all forms — learning about the stories behind it, creating new pieces myself, and making things that add beauty or function to our everyday lives. Whether I’m painting, building, gardening, or cooking, I enjoy the process of creating something meaningful from an idea.
I’m also fascinated by culture and history, especially the ways people, places, traditions, art, and food connect. Many of my favorite experiences come from exploring those connections and discovering the stories behind them.
